ROS News for the Week of July 21st, 2025

It has been a busy week! Last weekend we organized a joint ROS / OSHWA / OpenCV booth for Open Sauce. It was an absolute blast! We also had a great ROS By-The-Bay event last night with speakers from Orangewood Robotics and Ember Robotics.
New week we have an Autoware Meetup Santa Clara on Tuesday, our regular Gazebo Community Meeting on Wednesday, and a ROS Meetup at Avidbots in Kitchner Ontario and a joint ROS / Dronecode Meetup in LA / El Segundo on Thursday. We also have a ROS Meetup in Singapore scheduled for August 6th.
It looks like @facontidavide has some competition! An talented young engineer has forked his Bonxai project to build Rolling-Bonxai: A rolling voxel grid implementation of Bonxai to handle large maps in ROS 2
The Conference on Robot Learning (CoRL) released their workshops this year. One of their workshops will be Open-Source Hardware in the Era of Robot Learning. If you are building open robot hardware consider attending, and don’t forget to certify your open hardware!
