Hello community,
One of our GSoC students, Shashank Rao, mentored by Arjo Chakravarty, will present their work about ray-tracing senors in Gazebo . Next are some details:
“In this talk, GSoC student Shashank Rao and Arjo will present their significant progress on developing a hardware-accelerated Ray Tracing library specifically for Gazebo, with a dedicated focus on improving LiDARs and depth cameras. Their work leverages Rust’s WGPU library, a crucial choice that ensures hardware-agnostic ray tracing, effectively allowing the library to harness the dedicated ray tracing cores found across a wide array of GPU vendors, including AMD, Intel, and Nvidia. This advancement promises to dramatically enhance the speed, throughput and accuracy of sensor data within Gazebo simulations.”
Here’s the agenda:
- Latest news from Open Robotics about Gazebo - Carlos Agüero, Honu Robotics
- Vendor-Agnostic Ray-Tracing Sensor Plugin for Gazebo - Shashank Rao, Indian Institutes of Information Technology, Nagpur &
Arjo Chakravarty, Intrinsic Innovation LLC, Singapore
.
Optional: Lighting talks
We opened a slot for short (2 minutes) lighting presentations. If you’re interested in talking about your maritime project contact me (caguero AT honurobotics DOT com) and I’ll book your slot.
