2025 ROS Summer School in China
Theme: Empowering Future Robotics Technology and Industrial Ecosystem
Dear friends
Robotics and artificial intelligence technologies are changing the world at an unprecedented pace, with their applications expanding daily from industrial manufacturing to everyday life. ROS has become an indispensable tool and software platform for robotics researchers and developers worldwide. To adapt to the rapid development of robotics technology and leverage China unique advantages in the robotics industry and technological innovation, I am honored to announce that the 2025 ROS Summer School will be held in the beautiful city of Hangzhou.
Date: July 26 - August 1, 2025
Location: Zhejiang University International Innovation Center in Hangzhou
(No. 2118 Pinglan Road, Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou)
Website: http://www.roseducation.org.cn/ros2025/
Curriculum
The curriculum will cover ROS fundamentals, commonly used tools, robot modeling and simulation, perception and navigation, SLAM, motion control, applications of reinforcement learning in robotics, wheeled robot boot camp, robotic arm boot camp, and advanced courses for legged robots. We’ll also feature specialized lectures, hands-on workshops, and project challenge competitions to ensure a blend of theory and practice. A venture capital and financing forum will be held concurrently; please stay tuned for the detailed course schedule!
Robotics Experience Exhibition
The ROS summer school will host a robotics experience exhibition, where participants can directly interact with mainstream bipedal robots, quadruped robot dogs, wheeled-arm robots, wheeled-legged robots, robotic arms, various wheeled mobile robots, AI development boards, and high-performance computing ecosystem products. By operating robots firsthand, participants won’t just be watching instructional videos or reading code; they’ll be able to directly control robots, experiencing their movement, perception, and decision-making processes. This high level of interactivity will significantly boost learning engagement and enjoyment.
Target Audience
This summer school is open to developers and enthusiasts worldwide who are passionate about robotics technology and ROS, and possess a certain level of programming proficiency. This includes undergraduate students, graduate students, doctoral candidates, researchers, and engineers in the robotics industry. We encourage applicants from interdisciplinary backgrounds to join us in exploring the infinite possibilities of robotics technology.
