Community meeting: Scalable Multi-Robot Simulation in ROS 2 and Gazebo

Hello Community!

After ROSCon we’re back with our October Meeting where we’ll talk about multi-robot simulations.

“Simulating multiple robots in Gazebo with ROS 2 often requires extensive manual configuration of topics, namespaces, and bridges. This Google Summer of Code project aims to simplify multi-robot simulation by introducing native namespace support in Gazebo and automated ROS-Gazebo bridging. These features allow users to launch multiple instances of the same robot model and automatically bridge their communication interfaces, reducing manual configuration and making multi-robot simulation easier to set up and manage.”

Agenda:

  1. Latest news from Open Robotics about Gazebo - Addisu Tadesse, Intrinsic.
  2. Scalable Multi-Robot Simulation in ROS 2 and Gazebo - Jiayi Cai, College of Control Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University, China.
