ROS News for the week of May 11th, 2026
Our Lyrical test and tutorial party wrapped up yesterday and we’re still triaging tickets. All I can say right now is that we closed WAY MORE tickets than last year and consequently smashed more bugs than last year.
Lyrical Luth will be released next Friday, May 22nd! Expect a bunch of fanfare and excitement. If you want to grab some swag you can do so via our swag store.
Altara is a React component library for real-time robotics telemetry and user iterfaces. It connects natively to ROS Bridge and ships with components that most people end up rebuilding from scratch. It looks super handy!
Polka is a low latency point cloud ROS 2 node which, merges LIDAR scans, re-publishes laser scans, provides granular filtering, and performs de-skewing. It looks like a great starting point for a more advanced laser scan stack.
This RViz 2D plot plugin is something so simple, so practical, and so useful that I am really surprised it didn’t already exist! Great work @Abdelrahman!
