Hi all,
I’m Klajdi. I’ve been building Robotheca, a free catalogue of open-source robots you can actually build, and the software around them. It’s still in beta, and before going further I’d love to hear from people who build robots for real.
What’s there today
- 475 robots: arms, quadrupeds, humanoids, rovers, drones…
- 800+ robotics software projects and 75+ AI models
- For each robot: the CAD/STL files, the parts list (with prices when the creator gives them), the hardware and software licences, the build guide and difficulty, and tags like ROS 2 or URDF
- Licences are read from each project’s own files. When they’re unclear, the page says “Unknown” instead of guessing
- Every creator is credited and linked to their own repository
What I’d love to know
- Is this useful to you? What’s good, what’s confusing, what’s missing?
- Which robots or packages should be there and aren’t?
- What would you like to see more of: simulation-ready robots (URDF, Gazebo), ROS 2 distro support, cost comparisons, beginner build paths, datasets…?
- Is anything wrong on a page you know well?
Every reply helps decide what I build next. Thanks!
