Hi Gazebo Community!
This week’s meeting was held on 2025-09-08T18:00:00Z and the following is a summary:
-
Progress updates:
- We’re starting to split buildfarm macOS jobs between x86 and ARM architectures.
- We’ve made progress migration the Windows installation docs for Jetty to use Pixi. We’ve found that Qt 6.8 LTS works best on Windows for now.
- We’re working on a solution for declaring conflicts between ROS vendor packages and our
.deb
packages in packages.osrfoundation.org. You can see some ideas and join the discussion here: Declare conflict between Gazebo packages in packages.osrfoundation.org and packages.ros.org (vendor packages) · Issue #1387 · gazebo-tooling/release-tools · GitHub. - There was a great discussion about the Tutorial Party. We’re looking at ways to improve the dynamics, like tweaking the prize system to keep momentum going.
-
New agenda items:
- We went through a list of potential names for the Gazebo-K release filtering out any problematic ones. The resulting list will be used to create a community poll this week.
As always, the meeting notes are available at meeting notes are New Gazebo weekly agenda - Google Docs.
The next Gazebo PMC meeting will be on 2025-09-15T18:00:00Z (See Open Source Robotics Foundation official events)
