Hi Gazebo Community!
This week’s meeting was held on 2025-08-04T18:00:00Z and the following is a summary:
- Progress updates:
- Jetty Release: The release project and milestone PRs are available for review. Team members are asked to verify their PRs are correctly listed.
- Buildfarm: build.osrfoundation.org was out of service due to large log files; the number of stored logs has been reduced to fix the issue. The homebrew release pipeline for 24.04 regressions is also being fixed.
- Auto-changelog: The auto-changelog project is ready to be merged.
- Zenoh Integration: Progress continues on integrating Zenoh into
gz-transport. One PR has been merged, and another is close to completion. Investigation is underway forgz-transport-logstests failing with Zenoh. - Dependencies: Qt6 dependencies are being added to
rosdep.
- New agenda items:
- Future Funding: A discussion was held about considering future funding goals for 2026, including ideas for a “next generation” of Gazebo.
- Release Branch Freeze Policy: An agreement was reached to implement a two-week feature freeze on older release branches. This policy will be documented and shared with the community.
- Community Survey: The draft for the Gazebo-K Roadmap Community Survey (not public yet) was discussed.
