Gazebo PMC Meeting Minutes 2025-08-25

Hi Gazebo Community!
This week’s meeting was held on 2025-08-25T18:00:00Z and the following is a summary:

  • Progress updates:

    • A new, much faster Mac ARM machine is now on the buildfarm! There’s one known issue with heightmaps in gz-rendering (gz-rendering#1159), and we’ll pause a full migration until after the tutorial party.
    • Several pull requests improving Zenoh support in gz-transport were merged.
    • The PR for standardizing ROS simulation interfaces is ready for review: ros_gz#790.
    • Work is ongoing to improve Bazel support, including adding the gz-rendering-ogre2.
  • New agenda items:

    • Jetty Release: The code freeze for the Jetty collection was 2025-08-25T00:00:00Z! We’re now in the process of creating stable branches and making pre-releases.
    • Tutorial Party: The tutorial party is just around the corner, running from August 27th to September 11th. We discussed a scoring system to encourage testing on different platforms.
    • Windows Support: We went over the current state of Windows support. You can track the progress in this issue: https://github.com/gazebosim/gz-sim/issues/2945.
    • Holiday Notice: The meeting on Monday, 2025-09-01T00:00:00Z, is canceled due to a US holiday.
