Hi Gazebo Community!
This week’s meeting was held on 2025-12-01T19:00:00Z and the following is a summary:
- New agenda items:
- Discussed supporting USD as a standard simulation asset format for the ROS ecosystem.
- Reviewed the Gazebo Kura release timeline regarding conflicts with ROSCon 2026; considering moving the release earlier.
- Noted the launch of the new Robotics Enhancement Proposal (REP) process.
- Discussed post-migration cleanup for the sdformat.org repository.
- Investigated why Jenkins DSL jobs are not running automatically after PR merges.
- Progress updates:
- Buildfarm status is stable, with work continuing on specific warnings and priority test failures (LogCommandAPI, Ogre integration, etc.).
- sdformat.org is now built with a static site generator (nanoc), supporting HTTPS and updated URL structures.
- Investigating performance issues with Dart 6.16 .debs.
- Completed the relocation of physics files and iterated on the Python shim for ROS Gazebo vendor packages for Jazzy/Kilted.
- Prototyping Terraform to automate branch protection rules.
