A reminder that our next working group meeting is coming up on Tuesday, August 25th. If you haven’t already, please take a look at Survey - Open Ocean Software and try to fill it out ahead of time. Survey results continue to inform WG direction, discussion, and opportunities for impact on the community.
Here are the details:
When: Last Tuesday of each month, 4–5pm EST

August agenda: Community project showcase & discussion
This month we’re skipping the external speaker slot and doing a group show-and-tell. With AUV 2026 (Southampton, Sept 1–3) and OCEANS 2026 Monterey (Sept 21–24) both around the corner, it’s a good moment to hear what everyone’s working on — think of it as a teaser for what you’ll be presenting or scoping out at those events, and a chance to plan some meet-ups on the ground.
Format:
- 3–5 minute round-the-room updates on current projects
- Bring something you’d like feedback on, are announcing, or plan to demo at AUV / OCEANS
- Slides welcome but not required
- Open discussion after
If you plan to show something, drop a note on Zulip or reply here ahead of time so I can pace the session accordingly.
Also happening around AUV 2026: OpenOcean’s Community Day UK runs Friday, 4 September at the same NOC venue, directly following the symposium — worth adding to your trip if you’ll be in Southampton.
