2026 Maritime Community Working Group Monthly Meetings

Hi everyone,

I’m scheduling our monthly working group meetings for the year and need your availability. Please complete this poll—I’ll select a time that accommodates as many people as possible, with the first meeting starting in February.

Monthly sessions will cover:

  • Guest speakers from industry, research labs, and academia

  • Collaboration opportunities

  • Community-wide projects

  • Emerging topics

I’m looking forward to what this group can accomplish as ROS2 adoption accelerates across the maritime community.

Hi all,

Following up on the working group announcement—we now have a regular meeting schedule locked in.

When: Last Tuesday of each month, 4–5pm EST
First meeting: February 24th, 2025

February agenda:

  • Introduction (I’m taking over as group organizer, figure I should probably introduce myself)

  • Proposed changes, meeting topics, and priorities for 2025

  • Overview of the new website and documentation

We’ll walk through it during the meeting, but exploring beforehand will help you come with questions and feedback.

Thank you! New site looks great - love the operations checklist, have not seen something like it before, as previously I did simulation, and now we have a field ops department that takes care of it. Good to have well-rounded knowledge about these things.

I’ll try to make it - I’ll be in Scotland for AGU Ocean Sciences Meeting 2026 so it’ll be a bit late (our talk is 8ish am the morning after).

Hey all,

Due to the lack of power and reliable internet service along with continued blizzard recovery efforts here on the Cape, this month’s meeting is unfortunately postponed.

I will have more information on a new meeting time in the coming days once power is restored.

A reminder for our upcoming working group meeting this month! Please take a look at https://oceansoft.org/ros-maritime-survey/ and try to fill it out ahead of time if you are able.

Survey results will be used to inform WG direction, discussion, and opportunities for impact on the community.
