I have noticed that when editing a traffic map using a reference image, the only way to set the scale or resolution is by adding a reference measurement to the map. This works and after restarting traffic-editor, the scale value in the levels tab is updated to the proper resolution in meters/px. The value on this box, however, is editable, but changing the value manually has not effect. When restarting traffic-editor, the value goes back to the previous one (even if there is no reference measurements on the drawing).
Is being able to set the scale only by measurements a design decision and being the scale box editable a bug? Or should editing the scale box have an effect? I am asking this because it could lead to mistakes when designing a traffic map, by believing the scale is set when it isn’t.
Also related to this, issue number 1 in traffic editor is solved, so I suppose the scale is set every time a new measurement is added and restart is not necessary, but the aforementioned scale value is not updated when measurements are added. Should a new issue be opened in the rmf_traffic_editor repo?

Hello, were you able to resolve this? I am facing a similar issue, even after specifying measurements. I am using Open-RMF 21.09, Ubuntu 20.04 OS.

I think for now the only way to set the scale is via measurement annotations and there is a limitation that the scale will go into effect upon restarting the editor only. PRs are welcome to update the behavior.

@jainil-simpple if you annotate measurements, save and restart the editor, you should see the scale update. Let me know if that is not the case.

Thank you for the prompt reply. It works as mentioned, so no issues there. My mistake was that I had not restarted the editor and did all my work in the first go. No wonder scale was messed up the next time I opened it.
