ROS News for the Week of January 19th, 2026



:mechanical_arm: :south_korea: This week marked our first ever regional ROSCon in South Korea!


Our ROS social calendar has filled back up again. There is a Gazebo Community Meeting on Forest3D next Wednesday and ROS By-The-Bay with Main Street Autonomy and @skye.galaxy next Thursday. The following week there is a robotics Dev room at FOSDEM and a Dronecode Meetup in Leuven, Belgium. This week we also announced a ROS Singapore Meetup in February and a ROS Heilbronn Meetup at Bildungscampus in March. Tickets for Open Hardware Summit at TU Berlin also went on sale this week.


@skye.galaxy released a fantastic new ROS Benchmarking tool from iRobot this week! it is worth checking out!


In the good vibe codes only department, check out this slick ROS 2 YOLO package. It provides This package provides composable and lifecycle-managed ROS 2 nodes for real-time object detection, instance segmentation, pose estimation, oriented bounding boxes, and image classification.
