Community meeting: Forest3D

Happy new year Community!

It’s time for another meeting and another exciting presentation. Here are the details:

Forest3D is a tool that generates realistic outdoor Gazebo environments from DEM data and Blender assets. It automates terrain generation, Blender-to-Gazebo conversion, and procedural placement of vegetation for off-road robotics and autonomous navigation. It can also be paired with our Bekker-Wong terramechanics plugin for full-stack terrain simulation”

Here’s the agenda:

  1. Latest news from Open Robotics about Gazebo - Addisu Tadesse, Intrinsic.

  2. Forest3D - Khalid Bour, unitsSpaceLab (University of Trieste, Italy).

Optional: Lighting talks

We opened a slot for short (2 minutes) lighting presentations. If you’re interested in talking about your maritime project contact me (caguero AT honurobotics DOT com) and I’ll book your slot.
