I recently published a ROS-I News and Events newsletter, but wanted to make sure the release of two OEM supported ROS 2 drivers made it here as well.
I have linked the newsletter below. In short Fanuc and Kawasaki have released ROS 2 interfaces. For Fanuc, this August release was announced at the past RIC Americas Annual Meeting.
There has been broad community interest in OEM supported ROS 2 drivers/interfaces. These will continue to be released if the community engages, provides feedback and shares successes. The OEM industrial manipulator companies all want to please clients by providing resources that deliver value, but also drive sales. So successful use, providing issues and feedback set the stage for OEMs to feel they are on a path towards value creation as well.
