Learning Path
The Masterclass follows a structured 5-phase curriculum designed to take you from ROS beginner to a job-ready robotics developer.
Phase 1 – Foundations of Robot Programming and ROS
Build a solid foundation in programming and ROS development.
You will:
- Learn core robotics programming concepts
- Get started with ROS and ROS 2
- Work in the City Lab environment
- Program a mobile robot (FastBot)
- Complete essential ROS development tasks
By the end of this phase, you’ll be comfortable developing and testing ROS-based robotic applications.
Phase 2 – Become a ROS 2 Developer
Learn how modern robots perceive, navigate, and manipulate objects.
Topics include:
- Mobile robot navigation
- Environment perception
- Manipulation fundamentals
- Mobile manipulator programming
You will apply these skills in the Warehouse Lab by creating a complete pick-and-place application using:

Phase 3 – Understand How Robots Really Work
Go beyond ROS tools and learn the underlying robotics principles.

- Planning algorithms

You will implement navigation algorithms from scratch in the Cyber World Lab using a ROSbot XL platform.
Phase 4 – Build and Program Your Own Robot
In this phase, you’ll receive your own physical robot kit.
You will:
- Assemble a FastBot robot
- Configure and program the system
- Develop a ROS-based web application
- Use Docker and containerized workflows
- Apply continuous integration practices
The objective is to experience the complete robotics development workflow from hardware assembly to software deployment.
Phase 5 – Final Project & Certification
Demonstrate your skills through a complete robotics project.
You’ll:
- Build a portfolio-quality project
- Apply the skills learned throughout the program
- Present your solution
- Earn your final certification
This phase is designed to help showcase your capabilities to potential employers and robotics teams.
