Hi, community!

As discussed in this announcement, the next Gazebo version will be released in March 2027. And we need a new name!

Gazebo’s naming scheme increases alphabetically and follows the “architecture” theme. These are the existing names:

1. Acropolis
2. Blueprint
3. Citadel
4. Dome
5. Edifice
6. Fortress
7. Garden
8. Harmonic
9. Ionic
10. Jetty

Now we invite you to name the next release, which will start with the letter M. As always, the list of names has been pre-filtered taking into account the meaning, trademarks, ease of spelling, ease of searching, and so on. This is a ranked choice poll, so you will get a chance to indicate your preference for each of the names in the list.

Here is the name list with definitions, you can vote on them below:

• Mansard – Multi-sided gambrel-style hip roof.
• Marquee – Structure placed over the entrance to buildings.
• Merlon – Upright section of a battlement.
• Mezzanine – Intermediate floor in a building.
• Mihrab – Niche in the wall of a mosque.
• Minaret – A type of tower.
• Mortise – A joint that connects two pieces.
• Mosaic – Pattern or image made of small pieces.
• Muqarnas – Three-dimensional decoration in Islamic architecture.

One thing that confused me is that you have to select a unique “priority” (or abstain) for each option. Otherwise the Vote now button is disabled.

Calling it “priorities” meant for me that multiple items could have the same number, but that’s not the case in this poll.
