Progress updates:
- Buildfarm: A test (
UtilTest.ResolveSdfWorldFile) is consistently failing on homebrew. We’re looking into disabling the test on those platforms for now. More details are in this issue. - gz-transport: A couple of PRs are in the works: one that optimizes how topic statistics are checked and another that adds a zenoh_echo example.
- gz-rendering: Some rendering test fixes for the heightmap on Metal and the depth camera have been merged.
- Tooling: We’re resurrecting an old issue about release tools, which sparked a conversation about potentially using conventional commits. Also, a new “extend” feature is being explored for
gazebodistrousingvcs2l(a replacement forvcstool). You can check out the draft PR here, though it may be a while before it’s available. - Community Survey: We’ve started receiving responses! The plan is to analyze the current results to start shaping the roadmap, but we’ll leave the survey open for more feedback. We’re also going to share it with more sponsors.
- Postmortems: The Jetty postmortem survey will be sent out this week, and we’re planning to work on one for Gazebo-classic as well.

- Version Bumps: We had a follow-up discussion about our strategy for major version bumps on the
mainbranches for the Kura collection. We talked about different approaches, like bumping everything annually versus bumping only when there’s a breaking change, and the technical considerations involved.
