I’ve worked extensively with CUDA and have been following AMD’s recent hardware releases with real interest. I maintain a few libraries that I’d like to extend with ROCm support so they run on AMD devices.
I don’t currently have access to AMD hardware, so I reached out to devcloudrequests@amd.com to request remote access for this porting work. I’ve also received some cloud compute credits through AMD’s developer program, which I’m grateful for. My main goal, though, is to test these packages on edge hardware rather than in the cloud.
Is there a better channel to coordinate this with AMD directly, or a partner/third party you’d recommend reaching out to for support with ROCm porting and edge hardware access?
I had a few conversations with AMD earlier this week. From what I was told it sounds like they would be interested in helping out with something like this. Can you DM me with your contact info so I can put you in touch?
I should say this is also a standing offer for anyone who wants to do open source development work related to AMD products. I can’t make any promises but I can extend an introduction to the relevant team over there.
@smac has such impeccable timing, thanks for the mention. I would definitely appreciate any help. I would like to try AMD first if I can get the help I need without troubling our friendly neighbourhood navigator!
