Community meeting: Simulating LEDs with Gazebo

GCMApril26 (2)

Hello Community!

We’re announcing our April Meeting where we’ll discuss LEDs! :red_circle::green_circle: Here are the details:

“LEDs transform robots from literal black boxes into communicative machines, instantly signaling what is happening under the hood instead of leaving you guessing. Since these indicators are such a critical part of the hardware, simulating them accurately is just as important as simulating any other component. In this community meeting, I will introduce the why, what, and how of the LED Plugin for Gazebo. This plugin allows you to define and use LEDs for your robot (or any other model for that matter) using SDFormat and provides interfaces to switch between different lighting modes on the fly - allowing you to build realistic visual indicators out of the box.”

Agenda:

  1. Latest news from Open Robotics about Gazebo - Addisu Tadesse, Intrinsic.
  2. Simulating LEDs with Gazebo - Jasmeet Singh, Eight Vectors.
