Notes

  • Esteve sees the major work as welcoming the new folks to the project and riding the momentum from roscon
  • Scott will work on getting the debian packages for colcon-cargo and colcon-ros-cargo pushed up
  • Grey looking to convert part of the API to a try_ which returns a result, and a “normal” version that will panic
  • Luca opened a PR for dynamic message introspection, important for Greys team
  • Grey interested in opening a lifecycle node PR
    • Wants to sync with Jacob on his past work here
  • Sam provided the promised example package from September meeting
  • Long discussion on message consumption and colcon + cargo integration in general.
    • Scott to work on his previous patching solution and look at the shim_crate_example Sam shared.
    • Lots of conflicts and messy lines between the two projects (colcon and cargo)
  • Desire to move forward with something that will improve the user story for colcon and cargo integration.
    • Hopefully that work will not close the door on future cargo improvements
  • Antoine looking for good first issues and how to get his foot in the door
  • Scott looking for support on this issue
  • Would be beneficial for packaging purposes to move this code to python
