Role: Robotics & AI engineer (ROS, Gazebo, MoveIt, VLMs, sim-to-real)

Hi everyone,
I’m a graduate researcher in Robotics & Autonomous Systems at Boston University. I’ve been working on LLM- and Vision-Language-Model–based control of robot manipulators in Gazebo and ROS, including end-to-end pipelines from camera → VLM → structured actions → MoveIt → robot execution.

My current work includes:
• Vision-guided pick-and-place with MoveIt 2 in Gazebo
• LLM-based high-level planners generating ROS action sequences
• Sim-to-real oriented manipulation pipelines

I’m very interested in the cable insertion and deformable object manipulation challenge and am looking to either join a strong team or form a small, serious team (2–4 people)

Looking for teammates with skills in:
• Perception (vision, segmentation, keypoints, tracking)
• Learning-based control (RL, imitation, or hybrid policies)

Hi — I saw your post on the Intrinsic challenge thread.

Your background in ROS looks highly complementary to my perception-focused experience. I’m currently working on efficient and robust vision pipelines (including the IEEE LPCV challenge) and am particularly interested in cable segmentation, keypoints, and stable perception for manipulation.

Are you exploring collaborators for perception + manipulation integration?

Would be happy to discuss and see if there’s alignment.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to join a team for the AI for Industry Challenge.

My background is in Computer Vision and perception for real-world systems, with a strong focus on efficient and edge-deployable models. I’m currently participating in the IEEE Low Power Computer Vision (LPCV) challenge, where I am working on latency-aware model design and robustness under compute constraints.

For this challenge, I’m particularly interested in contributing to the perception side of deformable object manipulation, including:

• Cable segmentation and keypoint / pose estimation under occlusion and shape variation
• Perception modules that provide stable, low-latency inputs for grasp planning and insertion
• Sim-to-real robustness (domain randomization, sensor noise, lighting variation)
• Translating raw visual observations into actionable representations for downstream control

I’m hoping to collaborate with teammates who are comfortable with ROS, Isaac Sim / MuJoCo / Gazebo, manipulation planning, or RL-based control so we can build a well-balanced system.

If your team is looking for someone to take ownership of perception and vision robustness, I’d be happy to connect.
