You guys would be mostly using debian here , im a arch linux user and planning to make a distro that supports both ROS1 and ROS 2 , because i am gonna make it declarative so you can roll back to ROS 1 anytime you want. Because my friend uses ROS he said ROS 2 does not have much docs about it , maybe challenging for me but i’ll do it

I would recommend using [nix-ros-overlay](GitHub - lopsided98/nix-ros-overlay: ROS overlay for the Nix package manager) to run ROS on basically any operating system.
Also checkout pixi.
Great. Just my two cents… I think he should switch to ROS 2, because ROS 2 is the industry standard, and most companies these days rely on ROS 2 even if some still have parts of their codebase in ROS 1
