Hi everyone!
I’m reaching out to share SensorGuardian, a new open-source project we are kicking off, and to invite contributors to join our first build phase.
The Problem: We’ve seen too many robotics deployments fail due to “silent” sensor issues—frozen frames, timestamp drifts, silent rate drops, or NaNs that don’t crash the system but quietly ruin data quality.
The Project: We are building a lightweight ROS 2 tool to catch these issues early. It analyzes sensor data (offline from rosbags or live) and produces clear diagnostics reports so you don’t waste weeks debugging.
Call for Contributors: We are looking for developers who want to help build this out! This is a great opportunity if you are interested in:
-
System Reliability: Learning how to build production-quality tooling.
-
* ROS 2 Deep Dive: Gaining hands-on experience with ROS 2 internals and diagnostics.
-
* Open Source: All work is public and you’ll be collaborating with industry engineers.
We are currently forming the core contributor group for the initial version.

If you’ve ever been burned by bad sensor data and want to help fix it for everyone, we’d love to have you involved!
