Dear ROS community,

After years of work, our team at Acutronic Robotics is thrilled to announce that our newly developed modular collaborative robot, MARA, powered by ROS 2.0 is finally available for pre-order. MARA stands for Modular Articulated Robotic Arm and has been built in collaboration with other manufacturers and out of individual modules that natively run ROS 2.0. The modular robot arm can be physically extended in a seamless manner and delivers industrial-grade features that we’ve been discussing for quite a while in threads like Latency and throughput in ROS2 - ROS General - Open Robotics Discourse.

We’ll be announcing more related modularity products in the short-term. All powered by ROS 2.0. Exciting times!

In case you’re interested on technical details, there’s a lively discussion happening at Reddit - The heart of the internet where our team will be answering questions.

We’re shocked and excited with the first commercial reactions received. We were originally planning to manufacture a small batch of 20-50 units but it seems we’ll need to plan for more. If anyone in the community is interested I’d recommend pre-ordering now to ensure we can fulfill the request by March 2019.

It’s also possible to move MARA with MoveIT! using bridges. You can find the details here.
