ROS Meetup Malmö Sweden

Hi all

As I mentioned before in this discourse thread I’d like to see if we can organize a small ROS meetup in Malmö, Sweden! It will be held just before the Mash-up event which has a Robotics and Physical AI theme this time.

2026-04-14T12:00:00Z2026-04-14T16:00:00Z

The agenda is completely empty, and that is on purpose, so that anyone can propose a ROS project that they’d like to present to the group. So please let me know if you’d like to contribute and I’m sure we can get that agenda filled up. Otherwise, we will just have fika all afternoon

Please sign up via the ROS meetup in luma (no account making required) so that I know if the room I have received is sufficient or if we need a bigger space. Also please share this with anyone who is in the neighborhood (like Copenhagen, Lund, or perhaps even Götenburg)

We already have 4 signups on Luma so far!

Unsure if you can make it, here is a map of all the places that are accessible within 3 hours to Malmö from any direction (it is more central than you think  )

Did I mention that this is the first Sweden ROS meetup ever?

We have updated the ROS meetup with a preliminary agenda

  • 14:30 - 15:30 - walk in, coffee, fika
  • 15:30 - 16:30 - Presentations on various topics in ROS development
  • 16:30 - 17:30 - Discussions on how to improve ROS community involvement in the Nordics
  • 17:30 - 18:30 - Social, talk and meetups (and perhaps some will go into town for dinner)

The list of presentations will be:

  • The inner workings of the ROS infrastructure and how to publish a package - Kimberly McGuire (McGuire Robotics)
  • Potential Demos by the folks of Staer (yet to be confirmed)

Make sure to signup on luma for the event and to secure a seat. We have limited spots

We have an update in the schedule! We have 2 new presentations.

  • New to ROS while fond of Rust - Richard Pedersen (Erletek)
  • Crazyflie and ROS - Arnaud Taffanel (Bitcraze)
  • The inner workings of the ROS infrastructure and how to publish a package - Kimberly McGuire (McGuire Robotics)
  • Potential Demos by Staer (Yet to be confirmed)

The event is currently at max capacity, but if anyone would like to join, please still add yourself to the waiting list and I can see what I can do with getting a bigger space!

You called and I have answered… with a bigger room. So the capacity is now at 40 people.

Please sign up on Luma still though!
