Question about positioning of the Task Board for the Industry Challenge

Are there limits to which the task board position should be set wrt the robot

Is it okay for the task board to be behind the robot and still within its reach?

Can I create environments that might not be realistic, but still reachable by the robot, like a levitating task board ?

I just want to make sure I’m following the rules correctly.

Yes, I have a similar questions, inside the task description doc, constraints for all the zones are defined: aic/docs/task_board_description.md at main · intrinsic-dev/aic · GitHub

But the constraints for the task board itself is not defined !! I can see it’s pose varys inside the sample_config.yaml file, but what are the limits ?

I vaguely remember in the rule description saying the robot will spawn within a few centimeters of the target port.

For example, the plug the robot is holding will spawn a few centimeters from the port so the robot can see the port upon spawning.

@Sathyagith @Ali_Mohamed if you read aic/docs/qualification_phase.md at main · intrinsic-dev/aic · GitHub, specifically the Start State section, it mentions that The task board is spawned with a randomized pose (position and yaw angle). While multiple components and NIC cards may be present on the board, the specific target port of interest will always be within view of the robot cameras.

Hope that clarifies.
