Preparing for Foxy sync 2020-09-10

We’re planning for a Foxy sync this Thursday. There are currently 52 packages ready to sync and one known regression.

If you find a regression when testing, please report it upstream and leave a comment here so we can track it leading up to the sync.

Starting Wednesday (2020-09-09) we’ll hold all rosdistro PRs for Foxy unless they fix reported regressions. On Thursday (2020-09-10), we’ll announce the release.

The rosbag2_bag_v2_plugin regression appears to be caused by a bug in a ros1_bridge release. I’ve made a new ros1_bridge release that should fix the regression: ros1_bridge: 0.9.3-6 in 'foxy/distribution.yaml' [bloom] by jacobperron · Pull Request #26494 · ros/rosdistro · GitHub
