Based on your feedback, we’re making some changes to 
lightning talks for ROSCon 2025. This year, we’re adding more lightning talk slots and introducing an advance submission round that happens in August instead of at ROSCon itself.
Our hope is that these new advanced lightning talks will make it easier for some of you to join us at ROSCon by providing you with a confirmed speaking slot that you can show to your employer / educational institution. 
Advance Lightning Talk Submissions
If you want to secure an advanced lightning talk spot, here’s what you need to know:
Please use this form to submit your talk 
- Submission Deadline 2025-08-23T12:00:00Z
- This date and time is FIRM and will not be extended.
- You must be attending ROSCon 2025 in person. Remote talks are not permitted. If you are accepted and can’t make it, your slot will be given to someone on-site.
- Additional details can be found on the ROSCon website.
Talks accepted in this round will be scheduled for the first lightning talk session at ROSCon 2025
On-Site Lightning Talk Submissions
Don’t worry, the traditional on-site lightning talk sign-up will still be happening just like in previous years!
If your talk isn’t accepted in the advance round, you can absolutely submit it again on-site. Talks accepted on-site will fill the second and third lightning talk sessions.
