Waffle note-taker

Waffle is a weekly meeting where maintainers triage incoming issues and pull requests that haven’t been otherwise acted upon. One person per week is assigned to be the “waffle note-taker” to both take notes in the meeting to keep the meeting as efficient as possible.

Rosdistro assignments

Rosdistro is a weekly assignment to monitor incoming issues and pull requests in GitHub - ros/rosdistro: This repo maintains a lists of repositories for each ROS distribution. Two people per week are assigned to be the rosdistro maintainers.

    • PR to resolve the test regression in rosbag2 when moving to mcap latest. [Thanks @clalancette]
    • Once that is merged we should be able to see what else breaks (hopefully not much).

    • MSVC 2022 transition
      • Checking warnings are resolved with a new version of cyclonedds.
      • PRs needed: Move cyclonedds to latest, Bump opencv to 4.10, Make it default on ros2/ci.
    • OS transition
      • Working through some difference in behavior between 2022 and 2025.
      • Testing increase in port range and reduction of wait time to address some of the test regressions.
      • Testing PYTHONUNBUFFERED=1 env variable to address hangouts on launch_test_ros when waiting for stdout.

    • Requesting feedback on: Policy on target platforms reaching EOL before the ROS distro
    • If feedback can be addressed today, then I will request a formal decision to adopt the policy.
