To complete the final stages of migrating https://community.gazebosim.org/ to this Discourse instance, both the Gazebo Discourse and the Open Robotics Discourse will be unavailable for a period of time beginning at 2025-07-17T13:00:00Z. During this time, both Discourse instances will be read-only.
The maximum expected time for this work is four hours. The migration has already been performed in a staging site and worked, so we do not anticipate any more time will be needed.
Once the migration is complete, https://community.gazebosim.org/ will be shut down. The URL will continue to work, but will automatically redirect to the Open Robotics Discourse. Deep links to topics and categories will also be redirected automatically to the new locations of those topics and categories at the Open Robotics Discourse.
After completing the migration we will also be updating the URLs for the Open Robotics Discourse. http://discourse.ros.org will become a redirect to https://discourse.openrobotics.org/, with category and topic deep links also being redirected. http://discourse.openrobotics.org/ will become the main URL for the Open Robotics Discourse. If you have bookmarks, I encourage you to update them to reflect this.
Thank you all for your patience. This work has been completed, and the Gazebo Discourse has been fully migrated to the Open Robotics Discourse, including redirects for deep links.
If you are a user from the Gazebo Discourse and you notice a problem with your user or the migrated data, please contact us ASAP so we can get it fixed.
I can’t login to my discourse.ros.org account (@peci1). I think I created the account directly via Google Account login, so I don’t have any direct password on the forum. When I try to log in via Google Account, I get a redirect URI mismatch. The same with trying to use Github login.
I also tried to reset password with all email addresses that would make sense, but I have received no reset email to any of them.
When you click “reset password”, the field wants an email address. None worked for me.
But, if you just type your username (not email) to the login field and a random password, you’ll get a failed login alert accompanied with a link to send a login email. This way worked for me.
The OAuth providers (GitHub and Google, at least) need to be updated to reflect the new URL for this Discourse. Unfortunately, neither of them are managed by me. I’ve reached out to the likely owners to get them fixed.
If you visit via the community.gazebosim.org url, you might encounter a security error in your browser. This is due to OCSP stapling. And now you’ve learned today’s new thing!
To fix this error, you should clear your browser’s site data for this website only. How to do this varies by browser. Here are a few of the common ones.
