Preparing for Melodic sync 2019-09-06

Currently Melodic has no regressions and 140 packages ready to sync. I plan to hold new releases for Melodic starting today, September 6, with a sync next week.

Please reply here if there are any outstanding issues I should know about before performing the sync.

I’m not sure when you are planning for the next Melodic sync. There might be a potential regression in rviz (RobotModelDisplay: Poll robot_description at 1Hz until found · ros-visualization/rviz@d171d82 · GitHub). Please hold back the next sync until this is resolved.

Thanks for the heads up. There are a couple of other regressions for Melodic as well. I’ll start holding the sync tomorrow (I’ll send a separate notification about it), but I’ll allow updates to fix the regressions including this one.
