# Why "export GAZEBO\_MODEL\_PATH=..." fail gazebo?

$export GAZEBO\_MODEL\_PATH=~/models  
$gazebo  
then gazebo doesn’t work and show anything in the scene. Setting the environment variable GAZEBO\_MODEL\_PATH always occur this !  
Note:$echo $GAZEBO\_MODEL\_PATH before setting is empty  
Why?
