A colleague recently asked me whether the snapshot repository was still being updated.
I just checked, but I couldn’t find Kilted on there and the last snapshot for Jazzy is from January of this year (ie: 2026).
According to Any plans for new Jazzy snapshot? - #7 by nuclearsandwich, @nuclearsandwich used a “hacked up automation for snapshots running on my own infra”. Is that still functional?
AFAIK snapshots are only provided for the LTS distributions of ROS (Humble and Jazzy at the moment).
New snapshots are typically released not long after the sync to main. The last sync to Jazzy (after the one in January) was 3 days ago.
@nuclearsandwich has withdrawn from Infrastructure PMC. I believe the proper person to nag about these things now is @cottsay

Kilted doesn’t get snapshots because it’s not an LTS.
I am indeed behind one Jazzy snapshot. I’ll put it on my list for tomorrow.
We’re still trying to find time to root-cause a migration problem where “bootstrap” packages aren’t getting captured as part of the snapshot. Once we figure out where the problem is, we’ll retroactively add the packages to the affected snapshots. For now, the most important thing is capturing the distribution packages after each sync, and I think we’re doing okay there (though admittedly delayed).
Thanks, I had indeed forgotten only LTS releases got snapshots.
this wasn’t necessarily to attract @nuclearsandwich’s attention. I was just referring to something he had mentioned in an earlier thread.
@cottsay: is there automation for this or should I now feel guilty for giving you more work?
