# ROS News for July 17th, 2023

This week we announced our _fifth_ ROSCon for 2023, [ROSCon Germany](http://discourse.ros.org/t/roscon-de-2023-ankundigung-announcement/32399) 🇩🇪 . ROSCon Germany will take place 2023-11-23T08:00:00Z→2023-11-24T08:00:00Z in Karlsruhe, Germany. If you are interested in volunteering please reach out to @destogl. If you can’t wait until November there is a [ROS Meetup in Stuttgart](http://discourse.ros.org/t/ros-meetup-stuttgart/31638) next Wednesday, 2023-07-26T16:00:00Z.

Our own @chfritz launched the beta for his new startup [Transitive Robotics](https://transitiverobotics.com/). Transitive Robotics is building a platform to address fleet-scale deployment, monitoring, and teleoperation of robots. A big shout out to our friends at [PickNik](https://picknik.ai/). They’ve been killing it this summer. In the space of couple of weeks they released [MoveIt 2.7 and MoveIt Studio 2.0](http://discourse.ros.org/t/announcing-moveit-studio-2-0-and-moveit-2-7-iron-releases/32296), raised an undisclosed sum of money from [Cypress Growth Capital](https://www.cypressgrowthcapital.com/cypress-points/cypress-growth-capital-invests-in-picknik-robotics), and launched a [strategic partnership with SKA](https://www.therobotreport.com/picknik-robotics-ska-announce-strategic-partnership/), They are also [holding down Space ROS](http://discourse.ros.org/t/space-ros-project-committee-meeting-2023-07-12/32339), and have been pushing for a [robotics track at CPPCon](https://cppcon.org/robotics-track/). 🦾 🤖
