# Preparing for Foxy sync and patch release 2021-10-13

There was a [regression in rviz](https://github.com/ros2/rviz/issues/782) with the previous patch release. We’ve reverted the changes causing the issue and will make a new patch release promptly.

There are currently [6 packages](http://repo.ros2.org/status_page/ros_foxy_default.html?q=SYNC) ready to sync and [no regressions](http://repo.ros2.org/status_page/ros_foxy_default.html?q=REGRESSION).

If you find a regression when testing, please report it upstream and leave a comment here so we can track it leading up to the sync.

Starting this evening (2021-10-12) we’ll hold all rosdistro PRs for Foxy unless they fix reported regressions. On Wednesday (2021-10-13), we’ll announce the release.
