# Preparing for Dashing sync 2021-03-04

A regression in the packaging for Fast-RTPS prevented security features from being built in recent builds of the binary packages ([Foxy | Regression: Default RMW no longer ships with DDS security features · Issue #252 · ros2/sros2 · GitHub](https://github.com/ros2/sros2/issues/252)).

To fix this regression we’ll do a small sync on Thursday. Tomorrow we’ll start holding releases for the sync.

Next up after this sync, I’d like to start preparing for the ninth Dashing patch release [Dashing Patch Release 9 · Issue #1062 · ros2/ros2 · GitHub](https://github.com/ros2/ros2/issues/1062) if all goes well with the ninth we’ll plan for the a tenth patch release (should one be needed) to be the final patch release at the end of April.
