Maritime hackathon in San Francisco, October 16–18 — looking for marine robotics builders

Hi everyone, I’m Filippo from Silicon Mtn. If you’re based around San Francisco and work on marine robotics or embedded systems, we’d love to have you at our Maritime Dual-Use Hackathon on October 16–18.

It’s a 48-hour build. Software-Defined Vessel is one of the challenges; the other two are Piping Layout Optimization and OT Cybersecurity & Blast Radius Analysis.

Silicon Mtn, Fincantieri, Fincantieri Marine Group and Mind the Bridge are organizing it, with Qualcomm and Arduino as main technology sponsors. Each winning team member receives a Qualcomm-powered laptop.

There are also two paths beyond the weekend — a selective Venture Track with six weeks of free acceleration with Fincantieri, and an opt-in Scouting Track for access to partners’ hiring processes.

Happy to answer questions about the challenges or format.

I was a bit busy with ROSCon last week. If you’re up for it I would love to drop by for a couple hours on Friday to say, “Hi” and see what folks are up to.
