# Gazebo PMC Meeting Minutes 2025-01-27

Hi Gazebo Community!

This week’s meeting was held on 2025-01-27T19:00:00Z and the following is a summary:

- **Agenda Items from Previous Meeting** :
  - Discussion on the future of Gazebo and its niche in the simulation ecosystem.

- **Progress updates** :
  - A new `gazebo_ros_pkgs` release has been made containing the Gazebo classic EOL banner
  - Windows CI migration to Conda is planned for this week

- **New agenda items** :
  - Gazebo menu redesign: Vlad Duhnov ([hellorobo.co](http://hellorobo.co)) shared various design options for the plugin search menu. The PMC had a discussion and selected a combination of two of the designs.
  - Had initial discussions on the [proposal to remove major version numbers from gazebo package names](https://github.com/gazebo-tooling/release-tools/issues/1244) with more discussion to follow next week.
