# Community meeting: ROS 2 + Ignition Gazebo (August 2021)

Hi, community! :ignition:

Our next community meeting is coming up in the last Wednesday of August!

This month we’ll receive two guests presenting about projects that use Ignition Gazebo with ROS 2! :ignition: :gazebo: :ros: 2️⃣ Both projects are using [ROS 2 Foxy](https://docs.ros.org/en/foxy/Releases/Release-Foxy-Fitzroy.html) with [Ignition Edifice](https://ignitionrobotics.org/docs/edifice).

### Mobile manipulators with MoveIt 2

Vatan Aksoy Tezer (@vatanaksoytezer) will present the work that [PickNik Robotics](https://picknik.ai/) is doing in collaboration with [Hello Robot](https://hello-robot.com/) to simulate mobile manipulators in Ignition Gazebo using [MoveIt 2](https://moveit.ros.org/). The work is currently on [PickNik’s fork](https://github.com/PickNikRobotics/stretch_ros/tree/stretch_xacro_ign/stretch_ignition) and will soon be upstreamed to [Hello Robot’s repository](https://github.com/hello-robot/stretch_ros).

### Differential drive navigation with Nav 2

Jasmeet Singh (@jasmeet0915) will present the work that [TechnoYantra](https://www.technoyantra.com/) has been doing to simulate differential drive robots in Ignition Gazebo using the [Navigation 2](https://navigation.ros.org/build_instructions/index.html) stack. You can find their work at [ros2-igt](https://github.com/TechnoYantra/ros2-igt).
