Chinese legged/humanoids banned in USA, what are the alternatives?

Just saw that newly imported Chinese legged and humanoid robots are now banned in USA, what other alternatives are there? I know Unitree had ROS interface in both Go2 dog and G1 humanoid (and you could jailbreak cheap base version instead of expensive research one).

What other alternatives are there?
Will this spur open source/open hardware design?

Again, I’m adding poll of what legged/humanoid robots have you used/planned to use :down_arrow:

What legged/humanoid robots have you used/will use?
  • Chinese( Unitree Go2, G1, etc)
  • Boston Dynamics (Spot, Atlas, etc)
  • Musk(Optimus)
  • Figure
  • Anybotics
  • Open source/ Open Hardware
  • Other

Actually, I bought lot of small servos so I could build my own mini 12DOF dog or tabletop humanoid for content/Youtube tutorial, maybe it’s time to start some OSS movement

You should update the title Public view of Open Source Robotics Foundation | Zulip team chat → All new non-US mobile robots banned in US.

Yikes  there goes my startup…But maybe it can be EU based  :rocket:
Just as iRobot declared bankrupcy and some US based humanoid startup (K-scale) too - (Good interview btw)
